Guotie was as good as before
The beef fried bun is alright, filling was good, same as Guotie. But skin was way too oily, it's literally soaked in oil
Fish is done sauerkraut style
Frog is done kind of like kumpao in terms of ingredients, but with a mild taste
Both were tender, pretty decent. There's also a lot of random things inside like celery carrots corn etc
They have an actual Indian here, pretty sick because this was super crispy. It's more a hard bite but it's not that bad cos it's very thin. Doesn't have any chewiness
Cabbage was good, duck intestines are tough(as usual, it's about time I learnt my lesson), and frankly the frozen tofu smelled off
The gluten was very sweet
Others were standard except for a fair bit of heat
They give you a shot of concentrated lemon punch to wash down the crab at the end of the meal. It's alright, but it's as sweet as you expect something like this to be
This thing is still absolutely mindblowing.
In fact having it fresh it's even better. Crispy pork floss, sweet cake, mayo.
It takes a genius to come up w this, but it takes even more impressive execution to have all components done excellently.
Must try
Cmi, bread was dry, filling was meh, exterior no aroma
The two breads I tried as samples sucked too, texture all cmi
It's basically basque burnt cheesecake, because of how it's liquid below. On top is your normal souffle cheesecake texture really
For someone who loves cheese, it's a simple delight which I really enjoyed
They're known as the best crab xlb. For the simple reason that most places don't do pure crab
From left to right, crab meat, crab roe, crab gao xlb. No pork at all. As such it looks very flat because there's no binder so the filling doesn't remain as a ball, unlike normal xlb
Skin doesn't pass tho. Each has it's distinctive flavour which is V good, which is halfway to being impressive. The crab meat esp is quite interesting, it actually tastes kind of like meat, very unique and v diff from what you expect
Worth a try if you're nearby, maybe it's just not the right season
Known as the best. Thank god for the rain today, because the queue is only 10 people long and about 10mins. Normally it can get crazy
The pastry is something I still don't like, however I admit the outside is crispy. The pork filling is flavourful and there's a nice bounce
It's always made on the spot and sold because the queue is never ending. So it's always hot
I wont say it's even worth today's queue, much less a crazy queue. It's a good version that doesn't impress, esp because the centre is so hot it's hard to eat and enjoy properly. However if this really is the best, I won't be surprised
Worth a try if you're in the area and the queue is short
