One of The MOST AMAZING CHAR SIEW around ($7.90/100g) This is really one of the best roasted char siew I have ever had?! MUST TRY!! (Not available on Burpple beyond as part of their 1-for-1s but we had to get this & here’s a glorious 400g for us) Look at meat, with a shiny layer of melt-in-the-mouth fats, worth every calorie man 🙌🏻 the different sauces available are also so very good!! Had this with their yang zhou fried rice & XO fried rice, with their vegetables which were pretty good as well!

CHARming CHAR siew, you’ve got me! 😍😍😍 . Throwback to the great meal at CHAR for my birthday treat with the best buddies from my ex-workplace! ❤❤❤ . Here's the feast we had: 🔹️Triple Roast ($34 for 450g of Char Siew, Soya Chicken, Roast Pork): THE BEST!!! 💯 Love the char siew the best - perfectly charred with sweet caramelised glaze, its smokey flavours were on point! Generally a bit fatty but JUICY! 🤤 Roast Pork was crispy too 👍🏻 . 🔹️Three Treasures ($14): Chinese spinach cooked in a delicious broth with salted egg, century egg & egg. Cat go wrong with my favourite 三蛋 combi! 💕 . 🔹️Spicy 4 Seasons Beans ($12): French beans stir-fried with minced pork & spicy peppercorn. Very flavourful! 😋😋😋 . 🔹️Signature Double Boiled Chicken Soup ($10): Their Signature Double Boiled Chicken Soup with scallops & fungi that has been cooked on low-heat for many hours to extract the maximum flavours was a great start to our meal. 👏🏻 Limited portions daily so you’ll need to be early or need some luck! ⭐ . 🔹️Hot & Sour Soup ($6): A soup that is jam-packed with wood ear fungus, tofu, pickled vegetables, chilli, shrimp & pork. Appetising indeed! 😉 . 🔹️White rice ($1.50 a bowl) . Overall, Char houses decent tzechar which is quite worth it with #BurppleBeyond 1 for 1, & outstanding roasts (though no 1for1, this is a must-try! ✔) Yummy meal! 😋

Delicious Chinese Food We ordered the following dishes: - soup of the day (corn soup with pork) - 300g signature char siew - 3 eggs vegetables - dou Miao with garlic We used the burpple app but overall still quite pricey. The char siew was really good! It is not too oily and the sweetness of the sauce is just nice. It is a must order when you’re here. The portion is generally quite big, vegetables tasted delicious too.

Founder BKT Founder’s did not disappoint with its peppery BKT soup and its tender pork and pork liver. Really enjoyed the mee sua as usual. Staff was attentive and refilled our soup promptly. However the veggie seriously was not well cooked and I had to soak it in the soup to ‘cook’ it further.

Tough Meat Good Service Meat was tough. I am disappointed because its a Bakuteh shop. If bakuteh is your main course, shouldn't your meat be the best? The soup was good, the youtiao was good, the vege was good but the meat was disappointing. I had a hard time because it was hard to get the meat away from the bones. Expected better also because of the name recognition/reputation and number of stores they have in line. This is my first time here, I am not sure how consistent/inconsistent the cooking is. But I don't think I will try it again. I thought I might find alternatives/ new favs but should be Sticking to my usual bakuteh shop People were very nice though, was very attentive to helping us add soup and food came really quick. At least I had a 1 for 1 promo, not bad. Only spent $21 in total.

Terrible Service, 1-for-1 Doesn’t Work, Tough Meat Do not recommend. 1. The service was beyond terrible. Literally, the female middle-age staff kept SHOUTING at us for our orders. 2. Since the 1 for 1 is for the founder bkt set, she claimed that “that set is sold out”. Then I said okay, we’ll leave then because that’s what we wanted. Suddenly she came back with “we have it. You MUST order a more expensive set to get the founder’s set for free.” We had no other choice and ordered it instead. 3. The soup was to salty and meat was too tough. I wouldn’t recommend it for the food’s quality too. It’s a tourist place. The other younger male staff are friendlier and kinder. Crazy middle aged woman kept screaming at the younger male staff and another older male staff. What a disappointment.

Our third visit to creamier at gillman barracks! It was also the first time I have had such a MESSY experience eating ice cream. Firstly, the queue at gillman barracks was soooo long on a sat aftn, so we didn't dare to take too long trying the flavours. I went with my top favourites pistachio and summer berry (I tried the white rabbit and sea salt Gula melaka too but didn't quite like it coz too milky for the first one and too strong for the second), while he went with his rum&raisin and acai banana sorbet. The moment the ice cream were served, the ice cream already gave its first sign of melting (while still in the airconditioned room), the moment we stepped out into the hot sun, the ice cream started melting EVERYWHERE within like 30 secs (this photo was snapped in less than 5 secs)! And I mean everywhere - all over the cone to the paper holder, to the paper towels, to my fingers (all 10 of them), to the table, and to my leg and the floor (through the gaps in the table). I felt as though we were having a speed-eating ice crram competition 😂 and we couldn't help each other because both of our cones were melting at an equally fast speed. Plus... My 2 ice cream scoops toppled!!! 😅 (I always had the fear that ice cream will topple for double scoops.. and yes, it does happen!) Thank goodness my other palm caught them in time - lol and that explains why 10 of my fingers were all dirtied. The next time we eat, we shall get the waffle! An observation of ppl around us, everyone was either having cup or waffle. Only us two funny ppl were eating and having trouble with our cones 🙈 yay to one for one with burpplebeyond (pay $6.80+ $1 for each premium flavour! Pay 2 premium flavours and get 2 premium flavours free! The most worth it one, because other places u will need to pay for 4 premium flavours even with the one for one) #burpple #burpplesg #burpplebeyondsg #burpplebeyond #creamier

Waffles with Double Scoop ($12.30) Read enough food bloggers’ articles and Instagram foodies’ feeds and one might come to familiarise themselves with the recent announcement that Creamier is about to shut down their Toa Payoh outlet. While the news spread like wildfire, so did the customers both loyal and first-timers, flocking to the rather memorable ice cream parlour for a scoop or two. I decided to head down to their second most popular joint at Gillman Barracks to hopefully catch a glimpse of what the popular ice cream flavours might taste like, and true enough, there is reason to believe that Creamier may just serve the best homemade ice cream on the island. A scenic walk down the rustic compound that housed refurbished army barracks topped off with Creamier’s delicious ice cream and waffles is an experience that I may only come to describe as tranquil divinity. With a kaleidoscopic array of flavours ranging from the childhood favourite that is Cookies & Cream to limited edition seasonal flavours such as their Blue Pea Vanilla crème, Creamier’s iconic ice cream can be thoroughly enjoyed with their freshly made waffles, which were one of the best damn waffles that I’ve ever had, if I may be so bold. I decided to order their Waffles with Double Scoop ($12.30), opting to try their crowd-favourite Earl Grey Lavender flavour with a modern classic that is Sea Salt Gula Melaka flavour. One word: perfection. Their Earl Grey Lavender was subtly light, evoking images of Earl Grey tea leaves with lavender petals, all while being effervescently refreshing despite being a creamy product. The Sea Salt Gula Melaka ice cream (which has to be my personal favourite) boasts a toothsome balance of sweet and savoury, excellently complimenting the warm fluffy waffles that were crisp on the outside while maintaining a delightful pillowy chew on the inside. Try their Cold Brew Coffee ($7), made using Papa Palheta’s Ethiopian Suke Quto coffee, which was bright and palatable with notes of peach, earl grey tea on the palette and a zesty citrus on the finish.

Lunch Time Treat! Came here on a Thurs aftn and it was packed to the brim. Got two double scoops (total 4) and a waffles (which we waited 35min for, way too long). Interesting flavours - White Rabbit, Blackforest and Raspberry Love. Peanut Butter Jelly was just okay in my opinion.
