ordered Armoury burger / soft shell crab burger mentaiko good service, waiters were timid but good service..! food portions were Large & tasty though a bit salty. Struggle to finish ! - Isaiah reviews
Salted Egg Fried Chicken Burger ($22), The Armoury Burger ($23). 1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond! Housed in a refined white colonial building, @armourygastrobar is one good choice to chill your night away with their burgers and craft beers. While the chicken burger had 2 massive juicy pieces of chicken thigh and somewhat resembled the zinger burger, I wish the salted egg sauce was more creamy without that undesirable barnyard taste. Curry leaves, a crucial element of a salted egg sauce, were unfortunately missing. Served with melted cheese, lettuce and tomato. Read mixed reviews of The Armoury Burger but what’s a trip without trying the classic? Sandwiched between the pillowy, buttery buns that we really enjoyed were double wagyu patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato. Although it was quite a sodium bomb, I liked that it was packed with flavours, especially the juicy medium-rare patties that also had slightly charred edges. All burgers are served with French fries. An additional top-up of $2 for a change to truffle fries, sweet potato fries, salad or onion rings. One thing for sure, whether it was sweet potato fries or French fries, their fries were ultra crispy. Thanks to #burpplebeyond, we enjoyed 2 burger at the price of 1! The Hangover Burger The burger had a wagyu patty, cheese, maple syrup hashbrown, hot sauce and mushrooms. Though the patty wasn’t the star of the show, the rest of the ingredients still made this burger so delicious. We added $2 to upgrade one of our fries to truffle fries, which was worth it as well. Burpple Beyond made this meal $11 for two burgers only!

👉Unagi Feast👈 Tucked away at Level 3 of @fairmontsingapore (connected to @rafflescitysg), @mikuni.sg is a swanky Japanese restaurant that offers three outstanding live stations - Teppanyaki, Sushi & Robatayaki. Using only the freshest seasonal Japanese produce, you can enjoy the best of three worlds here, leaving you with an unforgettable dining experience. 。 For an ultimate Unagi feast, these are what we ordered: Unagi Don, Unagi Kabayaki and a Dragon Roll that consists of BBQ Eel, Prawn Tempura, Cucumber & Avocado. Slathered with a sweet, sticky sauce before going on the grill, the glazed unagi slabs had the right balance of sweetness and saltiness without masking its natural flavour. They were also soft and tender, with negligible fine bones in the meat that can be pretty disturbing for someone like me. 。 Thanks to @chopesg, I probably won't have known this hidden gem without their help. So to let you guys know, they're currently featuring a new dish every month and for the month of May, it's actually my favourite UNAGI! Do check out their Dish Of The Month page to know the top picks by diners and maybe score some exclusive discounts for yourself too 😊. #ChopeSG #DishOfTheMonth

Mick The Coolie Cannot Afford The Uni At Mikuni The service is very attentive and the food is not bad. The problem is you can have food that is equally good at joints which look as pedestrian as Mikuni but which charge two-thirds the price they charge here. Popular with conservative older clients, or financiers with a hefty entertainment budget.
Teppanyaki cod glazed with miso at @mikuni.sg 🇸🇬 . The fresh cod fish was lightly glazed with the sweet miso sauce. Nice sear on the teppanyaki grill and I liked the fresh and crisp slightly raw beansprouts. A solid dish. . #burpple #chopebites #teppanyaki

[Viio Gastropub] - Spaghetti Aglio Alio with Prawns ($9.90) which features al dente pasta tossed in a homemade prawn and olive oil mixture, giving the dish a fragrant aroma and a subtle hint of spice. Paired with plenty of small shrimps atop which has a crunchy sweet texture. Although I wished plump juicy prawns were used instead but for the pricing, it is rather value for money. . Just For Wine Chanced upon this small lil gastro pub restaurant and decided to have a drink. Oh well wrong move, the restaurant is so noisy and is just like going to a market!!! Last time back here, not recommended for anyone who wants a nice ambience or some quiet place for dinner and drink.
Hidden Gem With Rustic Set Lunch Menu A hidden gem with an affordable, rustic set lunch menu with dishes that were executed perfectly. The salad was a refreshing starter with a zingy wasabi soy drizzle. They do a mean spinach aglio olio, cooked to garlicky, al-dente perfection, topped with slices of eggplant and zucchini that were fresh, juicy with an addictive charred smokiness. Fans of the classic carbonara might take a liking to their fusion take, with bonito flakes crowning the creamy dish. We were treated to a colourful trio of hand-shaved chips - the sweet potato chips were outstanding (dip them in the homemade guacamole salsa and you'll see why). Teas were at $2 a pop with the set lunch - the iced pomegranate tea was a refreshing treat. We stared longingly at the halibut dish that was also on the menu, but that's a dish for another culinary sojourn.

Inside Scoop
Not worth the price! 🥴 Was honestly looking forward to trying this place but was utterly disappointed by their most famous dish the ‘Epic’ Beef Gyudon ($25++) it lacked flavour in the entire dish and its only saving grace was the foie gras. when we spoke to the waiter to ask if there was anything that could be done, he came back saying that “it is supposed to taste like that” and proceeded with a tub of truffle oil (LITERALLY THE OIL) on the side with a sauce that was meant for another dish. i was utterly disappointed not just with the quality of food i was paying at a steep price but also with the professionalism and customer service they provided!!! The Nanban ($9) was very average, the batter was heavy and thus it didn’t leave the fried chicken with a crisp airy feel. overall would rate it a 6.5/10. i was rather interested to try their other dishes such as the tempura kangkong and chicken bones. The best dish of the day was the Salmon Belly don ($18) which was on the seasonal menu. the salmon portions were huge and due to the cut of the salmon being the belly, it was extremely tender and flavourful. the flavours used were extremely well balanced & i was extremely satisfied with the dish. overall experience: service: 3/10 ambience: 7/10 quality of food: 6.5/10 would i go back? NOPE. especially because the only good dish is on a seasonal menu which will be gone soon.
✨The Refinery 🇸🇬✨⁣ ⁣ How about some Wagyu Tartare ($15) and a bowl of grilled salmon don ($12) for you? 😍⁣ ⁣ I was pleasantly surprised with the wagyu tartare as they added satay sauce to the tartare. Interesting choice of sauce and it elevated the flavor of the beef. 😌😌 However, my lunch buddy didn’t like the satay sauce so it really depends on your taste preferences. 🤪🤪⁣ ⁣ As for the grilled salmon don, no complaints about the grilled salmon and rice but would prefer more sauce/seasoning on the rice. ☺️☺️ ⁣ ⁣ 🍽 is at 115 King George's Ave, 02, 208561⁣ ⁣ 🕰 Mon-Thurs 12-3pm / 6-11pm ⁣ 🕰 Fri 12-3pm / 6-1am ⁣ 🕰 Sat 11-4pm / 6-1am ⁣ 🕰 Sun 11-4pm ⁣ ⁣ Overall Rating: 3.5/5⁣ Things that I loved: The ambience & pocket friendly prices. 😌🤩⁣ ⁣ #burpple ⁣
