Choose a good seat and youā€™ll be able to watch the Jewel Sky waterfall during your meal :-)

We tried:
Duck confit - not the best. Duck meat was a tad too dry.
Barramundi - quite good. Soft fish laid on top of creamy mashed potatoes. Portion could be bigger.

I didnā€™t have high hopes for Perch, because we generally donā€™t like fusion food. After all fusion food has a bad rep of being ā€œnot here not thereā€... šŸ¤

Perch was surprisingly good. Decked in plush furnitures and gold cutleries, the place looked very clean and luxurious. The prices were also wallet-friendly plus there was BB 1 for 1!

We tried:
Pork chop
Steak (300gm)

Both were very soft, and succulent. Done very very well. Will be coming back for sure šŸ„³

We visited on a weekday lunch time and had to wait at the door for a table šŸ˜¦ it was full house and staffs were quite overwhelmed...

We ordered the lunch set (salt & pepper chicken bowl $14.90?) and an ala-carte dish - steak don which was $18. One of the worst decisions of my life... $18 for the steak don was not worth it at all. Food arrived at our table cold. Ingredients in the bowl didnā€™t really match together though I must commend their healthy approach to use purple rice as a base!

Thereā€™s also a loooooong wait so donā€™t come here if youā€™re starving šŸ˜Ŗ

I was craving for some carbie noodles so Kajiken felt like a good choice. But... to my disappointment I felt the portion was quite small. More noodles could be given, and thereā€™s only one or two pathetic looking pieces of Cha Shu ($13.80). Could have been a higher portion with more ingredients to make the dish more interesting.

It was a rainy day and we chanced upon Sing Yi Seafood in Punggol. Feeling cold we decided to order Claypot Fish head ($24) and 3 Egg Spinach soup ($13, S). Both dishes were a generous portion. Soup was a bit sandy at the end, not sure if itā€™s from the veg. But it was a really delicious meal :)

Located at 129 Rangoon Road, Daizu Cafe is a newly opened cafe! We were greeted by a rustic, minimalistic decor and sleek lines, and the aromatic of freshly grounded coffee beans.

The cafe serves a conservative selection of brunch items like Egg Benedictā€™s with a twist, and also main dishes like rice options. We went for Miso Beef Striploin and Mentaiko Salmon rice bowls!

The beef was seared to tender medium-rare perfection while the Mentaiko on the salmon was super generous and had a lightly torched aroma.

The cafe is equipped with power plugs - ideal for working if you need a change in environment from WFH! Love the place, will be back. Itā€™s a short 5-8 min walk from Farrer Park Exit B.

Super love this Milkis Soju (we had green grape) and it was SO refreshing. Super love it, 10/10 would come back for this.

Space is a bit small, not sure if thereā€™s a second level here.

We ordered Scallop Mentaiko pasta which came with a mountain of ebiko in a cream sauce pasta. Couldnā€™t really taste the mentaiko in the pasta, but scallop was soft and succulent. Only 3 scallops though šŸ˜•

Har Cheong Kai (6pcs $13) was hearty but more prawn paste could be used to have the additional flavour of the ā€œHar Cheongā€ that we all crave for!

Lunch sets come with:
Your selected main
Sesame dressing salad
Mini side dish of the day
Chawanmushi
Miso soup

FYI, rice, miso soup and salad is refillable!!! We were super stuffed after having the set.

This place is charming, with a bar as well if youā€™re in a mood to chill here for some drinks šŸ·
