Make a reservation! The drinks are good here, the variety is interesting and you can customise your drinks by base etc. Food is delicious, portion is small though.
Thanks to Instagram, I have had my eye on their “Ebi Katsu Sand” for the longest time.
Supposedly limited to two sets a day, the thin patty is created with prawn and fish paste, breaded and deepfried to a nice crunch. It is then arranged with housemade tartar sauce, hardboiled egg, onion, dill and pickles immaculately between slices of cushiony-soft white bread. I did enjoy this as it was surprisingly flavourful for something so restrained in appearance. Not unlike many things to do with the Japanese culture I guess (and I mean that in a most complimentary way).
Sorry but I can’t share how much this cost because no prices are listed on their menu. But to give you a rough gauge, I paid $165 for three drinks (a “Penicillin” plus two whisky-based cocktails) and this sandwich.
This is my Amaou strawberry cocktail with white rum and Thiénot champagne and holy moly, le au naturel fancy Japanese strawberry goodness spilleth.
This is definitely not a place for me, it’s overly ‘atas’ for my taste. It’s like super fine dining with cocktail with no menu, every drink is made personalized to your preference. I have to admit I do enjoyed the bartender in action but not when I reach over the huge leather seat and whisper in conversation. Good cocktail and it’s definitely one of the most high end one I ever been.

Had a similar concoction of Old Fashioned and Roku Gin with champagne, both cocktail cost $74.

I honestly have no idea how much the food n drinks cost as there isn’t any price on their menu and bill. 😲 But the bar is stunning :)

Twin towers of Octomore.
Octomore 07.1 || 208 PPM || 59.5% — really opens up with a few drops of water with cherry/fruity notes shining through. The usual smooth Octomore flavour and extremely peaty. Single malt Scotch whisky aged 5 years in bourbon casks.
Octomore 07.2 || 208PPM || 58.5% — finished in ex-Syrah wine casks from the Rhône region of France. Slightly sweeter in taste and more flavourful than 07.1. I prefer this one without water added as the taste becomes rather sharp with a few drops of H2O. I much rather this neat with the smokey flavours gradually engulfing my tastebuds.
Both have their unique points. I prefer 07.1 with water and 07.2 neat. 07.3 I prefer neat too.
07.1-07.3 conquered. Octomore is touted to be "THE WORLD'S MOST HEAVILY PEATED WHISKY SERIES".
