Salmon

While they were generous with the avocado, they didnā€™t give much salmon and the slices were thin. The sauce on the rice ended up at the bottom - which was a pity as the sauce was quite decent, however I ate most of the rice plain as I didnā€™t notice the sauce till I was finishing the bowl. Plus points of the dish was that the tobiko and fish roe was fresh without any fishy smell. #food #foodphotography #foodie #burpple #sgfoodies #singapore #foodporn #sgfood #foodsg #sg #sgfoodie #noms #nom #eats #sgeats #burpplesg #salmon #salmonbowl #avocado #tobiko #ricebowl #rice #japanese #japanesefood

The Salmon Poke Tacos at Mojo was an interesting & yummy combination as the papadums were used as the 'tacos' to scoop up the generous amount of salmon, avocado and ikura! šŸ˜And because it is Friday, happy hour martinis for us!šŸø

With over 10 choices, you can have foie gras, beef steak, salmon and also the avocado kimchi tamago. Thereā€™s a thing about their bowls here - scrambled egg which is a must to add. The layers of fluffy scrambled eggs is exactly what we are looking for, soul food indeed. Sides such as the salmon avocado taco is also a healthy snack to share with your dinner date. The downside is that their rice was a bit too mushy and the taco was actually... papadum?!? Wondering if they ran out of tacos and borrowed the papadums from the Indian restaurant beside?

Thereā€™s nothing I dislike about this dish, the sauce goes on so well with the unagi. Price point of $29 is fair since there quite alot of ingredients (Uni, ebiko..) that went into this dish. Iā€™ve tried the Aburi Norwegian Salmon Maki $18, a miss for me as the rice is lacking the usual texture of a maki. 1-1 beer was worth it.

$14

Roasted Norwegian Salmon
Cha Soba
Roasted Beets and Carrots
Miso Glazed Eggplant
SautƩed Mushroom
Almond Flakes
Garlic MOJO Vinaigrette

Very similar to Grain Traders but cheaper and less crowded. Glad that the chasoba isnā€™t overcooked. The salmon portion is really generous! Mushroom and eggplant are really tasty but slightly salty. Wanna come back and try the other dishes. šŸ˜Š

you can only imagine my bliss when i realised that, for Yakitoris costing less than $9, there was a 50% discount! so since i was overhungry, i overordered and overate. i was also overdisappointed at how the standards of service and food have dropped, rather tremendously since the last time i was here. wait staff were not attentive, not exactly friendly and the food was just mediocre. .

i really missed the Aburi Broccoli so that was my number one dish to order. most of it turned out more charred than tasty. the meats were pretty overcooked, especially the beef, the Aburi Salmon was tasteless and the Mid-Wings sticks were the worst. feels like there were only seasoning on the skin but the insides were all bland. i guess i wonā€™t be missing Mojo again for some time šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø. .

Tucked away at a relatively strategic location is this not-so-new concept of hearty rice bowls, which nevertheless, sufficed to entice my sister and I down for a tasting.

I opted for the regular protein bowl, which came with 1 protein, 1 carb, 3 vegetables, 1 topping and 1 sauce for just $14. Pretty good deal Iā€™d say - for the servers were generous with the portions.

Pictured here is a serving of cumin Japanese tilapia fish, quinoa, pesto cherry tomatoes, miso grilled aubergine and edamame. Topped off with some fluffy katsuo flakes and the signature MOJO Garlic vinaigrette which absolutely deserves special mention for that hint of aroma and garlic (yet not overpowering to murder that breath), I think I got quite a kickass and filling combo right there.

My sister got the salmon instead, and I gotta admit that hers was a much better choice; juicy, succulent, moist and a thick slab right there, probably the best choice Iā€™d say among the rest of the proteins if youā€™re getting the $14 bowl. The queue can look daunting, but it moves fast, and thereā€™s a spacious seating area right in, so this place definitely deserves a visit!

Comes with 1 protein, 3 sides, 1 sauce and 1 topping.

Really resembles grain trader, but with a much less extensive menu and relatively cheaper.

Base: spinach (choice of quinoa, brown rice, spinach)
Protein: oven baked salmon (choice of chicken, tilapia, salmon)
Toppings: broccoli, baked eggplant, sweet potatoes
Sauce: Japanese curry
Topping: furikake

Salmon was well cooked and it remained moist and flaky! I like that section of the salmon so double points for them! šŸ˜› broccoli was so so, marinated and still crunchy, eggplant was soft and had some kind of bean paste sauce on it. Didnā€™t particularly like the sweet potatoes as they tasted like they have been soaked in syrup. No idea why I chose the Japanese curry, itā€™s not my usual, which is the more viscous type like vinaigrettes. Thankfully they didnā€™t pour it all over my lunch box but only on the salmon itself, so itā€™s more like a dipping sauce. Which also means to say the leaves were generally dry and had to be eaten w everything else. I guess I would have preferred the dressing to be by the side as a default so at least it was up to me how Iā€™ll utilise it. It was overall an okay meal, but Iā€™ll choose Grain Traders any day. Good option to beat the lunch crowd Id say!
