Was expecting a more pronounced gochujang flavour, but other than that, this was a tasty bowl. Pork was tender and flavourful while the greens, sautΓ©ed veggies and pickles provided balance. The pickled lotus root slivers were a little too salty when we visited, but they seemed receptive to the feedback.
** Back again for lunch to try out the Gochujang Pork. Chose soba noodles as the base this time and the combination surprised me as it was flavorful yet refreshing. The pork is braised and tender at the bite. Overall, yet another solid and affordable lunch set at Haru!

Thanks to Xing Wei, we heard about this little hole-in-the-wall selling rice bowls near Brawn & Brains! Haru has a really simple menu of four items; three proteins that you can customize with different bases (Japanese pearl rice, multi-grain rice or soba) and a vegetarian option.
I had the pork, which came with two chunks of gochujang braised pork which was really packed with flavour and quite tender though the gochujang was a little lost in translation. The sides that came with definitely pleased too with super tangy pickles and roasted vegs (we did tell them dial down on the pickles just a little). Overall, a very satisfied belly from a meal that wonβt break the bank.
