Initially, I wondered why anyone would stick potatoes on a pizza, but after walloping this here sausage & potato pizza, I ain't asking anymore questions. Mainly because I'm stuffing myself full with this piquant pizza, but that's another story for another time.
Mozzarella and Gorgonzola cheese joins forces with Atmastel's house-made sausage that's done according to head chef Andrea Tarini's 150 year old recipe that belonged to his grandmother, and thinly sliced purple potatoes atop Atmastel's awe inspiring pizza base, before everyone takes cover under the foliage of peppery rocket leaves.
It's utterly satisfying, with the warm, stretchy cheese providing the richness while the sausage brings a small hit of spice, alongside its delectable juicy meatiness and savory flavors. The surprisingly palatable purple potatoes fit right in with its companions, adding an extra, welcome starchy density while bringing along its charmingly crunchy qualities.
Well, I think I've just given myself major cravings for Atmastel's sterling sausage and potato pizzas. And there's only one place to sort out that particular craving.
Many thanks to Tiffany of Atmastel for being such a lovely host, and to Veronica for the invite!
