I'm a little late to the grilled fish hype but late rather than never right!! Also, if you're looking for a cheaper option as compared to Tan Yu, Chong Qing Grilled Fish is definitely an alternative!! 🤤 Besides, it is great for groups and can serve as a supper spot as well 🙌🏻

📝 This is a typical Sichuan dish where you had to choose the type of fish first (preferably the Sea Bass, if you're not sure where to start). Next, the flavour base and spice level of your choice, followed by add-ons/side ingredients for the fish.

Keeping in mind that one medium size fish serves 2 pax, we got the Patin Fish (one size, $39) in their signature Spicy Fragrant 麻辣 flavour 🌶 and the Sea Bass (large size, $38) in Mushroom Herb flavour 🍲. On top of that, we added beancurd skin, lotus root and enoki mushroom which were great complements to the already fresh and meaty fish (from $3.80 each). Furthermore, the spiciness of the mala base was still alright for 小辣 and quite addictive. But to our surprise, we actually thought that the Mushroom herb flavour stood out quite well too. The gravy was quite salty but goes well with the rice!
Also, if you're a salted egg fan, you can also consider getting the Salted Egg Calamari ($14) 😋
