A crunchy taco shell filled with spicy fatty tuna, avocado, tomato, onions, and lettuce, I expected quite a lot from Tanuki Raw’s Negitoro Herumetto ($14). Yet...aside from the interesting ‘taco shell’ (essentially tempura-ed nori sheets as far as I can tell), the flavours in all were downright disappointing. The lettuce wasn’t entirely dry and held pockets of water; wee drizzle of spicy sauce too little to support the tasteless unseasoned tuna; and I really don’t get why cheap Kraft-like processed cheese is used for this — it clashes with the spicy sauce, does nothing to support the tuna, and really just stands out like a sore thumb.
