One of our favourite items at Afuri, the yuzu tsukemen is a dipping noodle with a bowl of yuzu-flavoured dipping sauce for you to use! The dipping sauce was fairly concentrated and it really brings out the yuzu flavour; we love it as it is pretty refreshing and not as salty as most of the other dipping sauces commonly used for tsukemen!

The dish also comes with a bowl of noodles topped with a ramen egg, yuzu peel and of course char siew. The noodles were fairly decent although they could be a little soft and less springy compared to those at most other ramen restaurants. While the yuzu peel was a pleasant surprise and added a nice citrus flavour to the noodles, we felt that the pork was rather disappointing as it was way too tough! 😐

For $15++, it was a fairly decent bowl of noodles although the meat definitely has room for improvement. Afuri is still pretty crowded even though it has been almost 3 years since it's opening, so you may want to go early if you plan to visit during peak mealtimes.
