I am grateful that a quieter Chinese New Year (with loss of a close relative and COVID-19 restrictions) doesn’t remove the usual “ritualistic” get togethers.
Reunion this year was at Belly View where you get casual dining beside the breezy sea, you don’t have to fret about a nice view. The place is less made up compared to its neighbour Stella, the latter has high ses bali beach club vibes. If you like your food unpretentious and good despite the variety, you can check out belly view’s ala carte menu of western AND zichar.

Today’s CNY reunion set (for 5) had 8 courses of standard Chinese dishes, starting with the Lou Hei, fish maw soup, 3 meat dishes (spring chicken, steamed fish, cereal prawns) , 1 braised mushroom & spinach, fried rice and yam paste for desserts. For the price we were paying I’d say it was a good deal for big eaters, and overall a priceless time to catch up with relatives.
