Came across a Fermented Butter ice-cream in a cup at the Toa Payoh branch but was only in the mood for ice-cream when I reached the branch at Hillion where they only carried this that was new. There were a couple of flavours — was hoping my pick would be the Maple Butter on first guess but ended up to be Orange. Still, this was quite good for a pastry item that is kept in the freezer — the macaron shell was still chewy, though a little lighter than how other places made theirs. Both the layer of ice-cream in between and the macaron shell gives that zesty orange flavour — you know, the ones that's a little too sweet as though it's from some concentrate (but it's dessert anyway). At a price of $2.20, it's probably a deal that's the best of both worlds — how can one get an ice-cream and a macaron for this price?
