It has been such a long time since I had buffet of any kind and a shabu-shabu All-You-Can-Eat buffet may be the best one yet! .
With 4 main meat plate sets to choose from, the general idea is that the more you pay, the better quality and cut you will have access to. Hence at Shaburi, prices start from $19.80 for Lunch & $24.80 for Dinner (Regular Shabu) to their Special Wagyu Shabu that is from $49.80 for lunch and $54.80 for dinner.
Having the Special Shabu set (Lunch from $24.80/Dinner from $29.80), the unlimited serving of thinly sliced Low Fat Pork, Tasty Beef, and Special Beef was definitely of great value and tasted really fresh.
Served as individual hotpots, it was a tough choice between the 5 different soup bases (Original Konbu, Hot Miso, Sukiyaki, Soy Milk Miso and Chicken Collagen Paitan Soup) but I was very happy with my creamy-sweet soy milk and miso broth. Rich yet is surprisingly light, the interesting broth was umami-rich. A quick swish in Soy Milk Miso base also brings out the creaminess of the meat and just gets more flavourful (they add dashi soup for FREE when you request for more soup).
For the dips, I would recommend going straight for the Original shabu-shabu sauce, no questions asked. Help yourself to the buffet bar with different kinds of hot and cold side dishes too- filled with vegetables, appetisers and desserts.
Utilize your 90 minutes wisely!
