Finally figured out how they prepare this one-cup dessert with cold vanilla ice cream below and a warm chocolate cake with molten topping.

There’s no denying how chocolatey the chocolate cake is. It’s awesome, and the cake is almost fudge-like as it’s so dense. The chocolate lava is actually drizzled on top of the cake after, and it’s gloriously warm and incredibly chocolatey as well. To mellow out the chocolate, there’s vanilla ice cream below so both of the layers create a nice texture, flavour and temperature contrast that’s heavenly. The ice cream felt more marshmallow fluff-like as though I was having some melted whipped cream, so I’d have preferred a denser ice cream. Overall, for $5.50, I can’t really complain. I would even just buy it for the chocolate lava layer and ignore the cream but that’s just me.
