Hong Kong Wonton Noodles has a new branch at Ion Orchard (#B4-54). It was not a surprise that the food doesn't tastes quite close to the authentic HK "hou hou mei" (tasty in Cantonese) because it is open under Taste of Japan Group, one of its restaurants includes Itacho Sushi.

The noodles @ HKWN are not as springy and they have the alkaline aftertaste. Wontons were too peppery, the fillings in the prawn dumplings were underseasoned and the soup was not flavorful enough. There were just too many missing HK elements here. Luckily, the only saving grace of this meal was the stewed beef brisket. Not that they were fantastic but it was good enough to outshine the rest.

Hope to see and taste improvements in their food since HKWN has a more extensive menu and bigger portion compared to Mak's Noodles. Well, Mak's Noodles still wins hands down in the yummilicious department. 😋
