Shark fin soup was once a popular and iconic dish often served at zi char stalls located at HDB coffee shops in the Eighties.
Despite the controversial on shark fin soup consumption, this was my favourite and essential dish that we used to order whenever my family eat out at zi char eateries during my childhood days. Love this dish so much, my family will always reserved 2 bowls for me to enjoy, as I was hardly eating anything else.
This version from Chef Frankie’s Cuisine was how I remembered it as a child — Piping hot and starchy with savoury stock base, enhance with copious amount of shredded crab meat, egg white and a generous dash of black vinegar! 🫶🏻
