Celebrate Peony Jade's 12th Anniversary with their "12 for $12" promotion, where you can indulge in the Cantonese fine dining restaurant's 12 signature dishes for only $12 from now till the 12th of August, 2016 at their Keppel Club branch.

Their steamed minced pork brings me right back to my childhood where my granny used to occasionally prepare it for dinner whenever I visited. The meat is sweet and tender, interspersed with crunch from bits of water chestnut and texture from diced mushroom. The secret ingredient here is the high quality "Mui Heong" salted fish, where the very best comes from Kuantan, Malaysia. The pasty salted fish imparts a heady fishy pungence and an intense dose of saltiness to the minced pork that not all might find appealing, but I really enjoyed, possibly for nostalgic reasons.
