After being stuck in camp for the entire week during my first high-key ICT in Dec, all I had really wanted was a glass of red wine to pair with a delectable dessert when I booked out for the weekend, and of course, getting to see my special someone. What drew us to this chic lounge by chance was the smooth tunes of live jazz heard along the 4th floor corridor of Mandarin Oriental.

My weak spot for anything red velvet prompted me to go for the Red Velvet Rose Cheesecake, which absolutely did not disappoint. Surrounded with thin strawberry-white chocolate walls, the red velvet cheesecake was moist and creamy with a subtle, delicate rose scent. I loved how the tartness from the fresh raspberries gave the richness of the cheesecake a refreshing contrast. What also added texture to this 5-munchie beauty was the crumbly streusel made from French-imported pistachio nuts, flour, butter and sugar.

With the city skyline as your beguiling backdrop, the sophisticated Axis Bar & Lounge is the place to bring your significant other to spend a quiet, quality evening with – not just for this Valentine's Day! I'd also highly recommend the sweet and citrusy, vodka-based MO Hong Kong cocktail that contains Chardonnay, lychee liqueur, and lime juice. Smart casual/elegant attire with proper footwear is advised when you visit the bar after 5pm. #EatBurpLove
