Iced matcha latte topped with a layer of tofu foam, a twist (and healthier alternative) to the usual cheese foam! I opted for no sugar and less ice for the beverage, being a hardcore matchaholic. A decision that I was glad to have made as the earthy, umami notes of matcha appeared distinct though not intense, one that’s mellow and pleasant to the palate. The tofu foam resembled that of soya milk whipped into a thick, foamy texture, lighter and more refreshing to the palate as compared to the usual cheese foam. You can choose to either sip the foam separately or mix it in with the matcha latte. I personally prefer consuming these two elements separately as mixing it would dilute the matcha flavour and make it more milky. On the downside, the price is rather steep for a bubble tea outlet that I wouldn’t consume it often unless craving kicks in .
