Hello Eastsiders, there is a new place for us to indulge our steamboat cravings!
"Le Le Pot", a popular la carte steamboat buffet eatery in Tiong Bahru has just opened an outlet close to the junction of Telok Kurau and East Coast Road. In fact, this barely week-old (as of 14th April 2015) casual restaurant is located along the same stretch of shophouses as the famous "Beach Road Prawn Noodles" and "Mad Nest".
Everything here is the same as what you get at the original "Le Le Pot" (which is where my geo-tag shows because this place is so new it hasn't got its own one yet). The a la carte buffet is priced at $22.80++ per adult and the soups cost roughly $5 each. After my visit this evening, I can conclude it's pretty worthwhile because apart from a small section of rather deluxe ingredients like "concubine abalone" and fish maw, the rest of the menu is available for buffet customers.
Overall, I was satisfied with everything I had. My recommendations would be the sliced beef, sliced pork and pork belly (yes, I do love my meats). All of these tasted really delicious after being cooked in the two soups I had chosen: the Herbal Chicken and the Laksa. The former was light, clean and sweet while the latter wasn't as thick as I feared (can't be too "lemak" for steamboat lah). It was completely drinkable, resembling a soup rather than gravy. Other soups listed in the menu include Tom Yam, Hot & Spicy and Preserved Vegetable.
Apart from the ingredients for cooking, there's a selection of side dishes as well. I can't comment on those as I didn't get around to trying them.

Address: 382 East Coast Road.
