Having went before to their original steakhouse at serene center, I was thrilled to return to fat belly social. Always loved their alternative cuts since the last time i went.

The concept of the outlet at boon tat street is slightly different. Essentially this is more of a communal dining/fine dine concept.

Came with friends and we started off with some light appetisers; the spicy crispy pig’s ear, grilled ox tongue and the padron peppers. The ox tongue and peppers were my personal favourite. First time trying the ox tongue and i really enjoyed it. Texture and taste was slightly similar to that of a steak only softer. The padron pepper and pig’s ear were not far off. They made a wonderful appetiser combo.

It did not took long for the mains to arrive; we had the jack’s creek F1 wagyu deckle, the crusted mac & cheese, grilled mushroom and beef heart tomato to lighten the “heavier” dishes. To me, the wagyu deckle + mac & cheese was the highlight of the day. Yes, this is rather “heavy” but it worth every calories consumed. Doneness was on point, and the overall flavour of the deckle well complimented with cheese.

Portion was generous and it took a whole one hour before we arrived at the desserts which came in the forms of Valrhona chocolate bruciato and burnt stilton cheesecake. Favourited fat belly’s burnt cheesecake since my last visit, and it definitely did not disappoint. If this was too much cheese, the yuzu & pear sorbet of the bruciato did a good job of easing out our gastronomic evening.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner; food exceeded expectations, service was great, the crews were hospitable to say the least. Will definitely go again in near future.
