Thinking of having something different for the festive season this year? Check out Rempapa’s festive offerings, with Chef Damian D’Silva’s renditions of classic British dishes but with Singapore heritage flavours that are available for dine-in and takeaway from 15-31 December 2022. I had a chance to taste these dishes beforehand and I must say they were all very delicious!

The Roast GG French Poulet with Rempapa Spices ($90, 1.3kg) is first brined in a blend of spices for 24 hours then stuffed with herbs and aromatics like pandan leaves, fresh bay leaves and lemongrass before the chicken goes into the roaster. The whole chicken was so well-marinated, tender and juicy (even the breast meat)!

Next, the Spiced Meatloaf with Sambal Mashed Potatoes ($90, 1.2kg) is made with pork and cooked with nutmeg and curry powder. The mash is mixed in with a sambal before it is piped over the meat and baked to finish. If you like your flavours heavy with a savoury touch, you will definitely enjoy this dish like I did!

To complement the mains is Rempapa’s version of Bubble & Squeak with roasted pork, brussels sprouts and onions, all cooked in a sauce of black bean, matured black vinegar, light soy, pepper and shallot oil! This was so moreish, with all the different flavours combining harmoniously! Goes super well with rice!

Finally, there is the Spotted Dick with Gula Melaka Custard ($35, 500g), a traditional steamed pudding that contains beef tallow, brandy-soaked currants, orange and lemon zest, served with creme anglaise sweetened with gula melaka. An indulgent and sweet end to the meal!

These dishes are available for takeaway (except the Bubble & Squeak), while all four festive dishes are also available as a Festive Platter ($120) for dine-in guests, which will be portioned for four pax. Orders must be placed 3 days in advance.
