It is only after eating this croissant that I understand the hype behind it. There is so much authenticity to its flavour, and generosity to its filling. The kinder bueno croissant was so decadent, the hazelnut praline ganache would make one’s experience feel luxurious. It takes skill to eat, for its oozy-ness would just lead to a gooey mess! And I must warn that this is a pastry that is definitely for the sweet tooth - and I’m not one. Not only is the filling sweet, the croissant comes with a sweet glaze. Sweet on sweet just gives way too much sweetness, and it was genuinely more than I can handle. To be fair to Brotherbird, the croissant itself was excellent and the generous ganache is nothing to complain about, but this flavour is really catered for one that has a high threshold for sweetness. Definitely worth the experience for me, and it’s excellent for the sweet pastry it’s supposed to be. But I know better, and next time, I’ll pass on this.
