I was so used to being laughed at when asked what was my favourite cafe in KL. Madam Kwan was my perennial favourite and my Malaysian friends would say that’s for tourists like you .

But there’s something sincere about the food at madam Kwan ( they opened in Singapore but didn’t make it ) .

So Glad to find an excellent nasi lemak that hits all the notes like the one from madam Kwan . Fragrant and excellent rice , homemade sambal , tender and slightly spicy and tangy Mesah merak chicken thigh meat ( thankfully no frozen meat smell ), moist egg and fresh peanuts and anchovies .

Was a little disappointed when I first tried their kaya toast set (a little over priced at 5.80), but extremely happy at my new find today.

Skip the toast and cakes and go straight it for the kill !

Excellent excellent nasi lemak .
