Matcha lovers rejoice! Treat yourself to matcha-infused Italian dishes at Grissini, a contemporary Italian grill restaurant located at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Marrying premium matcha from Nishio region in Japan with Italian dishes, the 4-course set menu ($88) is the brainchild of Grissini’s Head Chef Mirko Vinci and is available till 3 Feb.

Kick-started our meal with an egg & green tea flan. The custard-like green tea flan has an earthy, grassy after-taste on its own but not as prominent when eaten together with provolone cheese fondue and crispy leek. Love those slivers of crispy leek! This was followed by a classic Italian dish β€” Gnocchi. Pellets of pillowy and tender matcha potato gnocchi with spinach in cream and dashi stock; sprinkled with furikake and Nishio Matcha. For main, we had baked matcha and honey-glazed cod fish. The moist and flaky cod is served with asparagus and pan-seared endive.

The highlight of every meal is usually the dessert and this is of no exception. Tell me, who can resist an aesthetically pleasing and tasty matcha tiramisu? Served with mixed berries and green tea crumble, this classic Italian dessert with a Japanese twist comprises matcha soaked vanilla sponge layered with a light and airy mascarpone cream.
