Attractive in crimson red ❤, this Ang Ku Kueh encases a rather substantial amount of peanut filling 🥜 which is finely-ground, aromatic & sweet! There's room for improvement for the glutinous rice skin which was very thick & tough.

I've always got a soft spot for Kueh Salat 💚 but this one disappoints. 😢 Beautifully clad in a bright green coat, this pandan custard layer had a smoother texture ✔ but the pandan aroma was evidently missing Too sweet & use of pandan essence = ❌ from me. Even the well-prepared glutinous rice layer couldnt be its saving grace.

Huat Kueh could afford to be softer & fluffier as this was pretty dense. Overall too sweet also but nostalgic! Apparently it is supplied from this called food supplier called Chua Peng Seng Food Manufacturing. 😔

Simply love old-school treats but these were just so disappointing! Will be waiting for Bengawan Solo to reopen! 💯
