Checked out LR Boulangerie; a new bakery that had opened its doors pretty recently at Valley Point — the bakery being located right at the entrance of the building and seemingly having a pretty small dine-in area that contains only counter seats for four individual diners in adherence to Phase Two dine-in restrictions.

Offering a decent variety of bakes, it was quite a shame that the Strawberry Shortcakes were only making their way out of the kitchen and into the display chillers when I made my visit. That being said, the Shio Pan was nothing short of satisfying — despite looking like a boring and rather firm piece of bread, we enjoyed how crusty the bread was on the exterior, yet being aptly dense within for a good bite and chew; liked how this was a bread-y version of a croissant, with the flakes of salt over the top carrying sufficient savouriness that mimicked the butteriness of a standard croissant.

They are collaborating with Coffee Plus (located at Farrer Road) for their coffee programme; the Iced Black was nothing short of being fruity with a medium body and worked well with the saltish-ness of the Shio Pan. A bakery that the expats residing in the area would certainly appreciate having in their neighbourhood!
