We were craving something spicier and we decided to give jia xiang Xiao chu at Chinatown a try! The Sichuan restaurant was really crowded on a Friday night and you may want to book a seat if you are going in a big group.

We got their signature item, the 辣子鸡, which is a dish containing deep fried chicken chunks buried amidst a copious amount chilli peppers and peppercorn. Don't be misled by it's aesthetics, however, because the dish is more numb than is spicy! If you are afraid, you can request for the restaurant to reduce the levels of the spiciness and numbness accordingly. Conversely, you can increase the levels if you are feeling adventurous. 😅

We also loved that the chicken chunks were really crispy and they were definitely freshly fried since they were served to us piping hot. The serving size was also huge, and is definitely enough as an appetiser for 3 to 4 persons!
