Passed by Monki, a new cafe that we had chanced upon while walking around the neighbourhood at Holland Drive near Buona Vista MRT Station which serves up Shaved Ice, Smoothies, Cakes (available in the display fridge), Hot Food (mostly a small selection of local fare) and Sorbets.

Wasn't expecting much but the Watermelon Shaved Ice was indeed a refreshing treat — comes with fresh milk on the side but the shaved ice was already good on its own; almost akin to a freshly-pressed Watermelon juice without being too sweet. The chunks of cut fruit were more like watermelon juice frozen as cubes; thought that using real watermelon would create more impact especially with the textures from the fibers of the fruit. Overall, a light and refreshing dessert on its own.
