The curtains may have closed at The Press Club, but I’ll still remember the meal I had there to be every bit as exquisite as I’d hoped for it to be.

The three-course lunch (bumped up with bread, loukoumades and petit fours) was a meeting of Greek and modern Australian cuisines, where flavours both familiar and new melded together to bless my palate.

A pity about the wage scandals and bad press (pun intended), but you can’t deny that George Columbaris and his team did make magic happen at The Press Club when it was still alive.
