I’ve only frequent Plank and Mr Kneady in the East, but recently I discovered tougher competition for sourdough pizzas.
I chose this place to gather with (ex-) colleagues and the pizzas here were off the charts paired with an assortment of natural wines to select from. The crust came crisp with air pockets, and a testament to how good it was is the fact you see polished plates without any leftover crusts.
I’d also recommend the chicken karaage to feel fully satiated. If you thought the usual small morsels of fried chicken were what you’d be getting; you be surprised to find 4 large chicken thighs in a fried sourdough batter with delicious kimchi mayo. Pleasant or not, you decide but I was sold and thought that this is exactly what I need to let my fried chicken loving mother try the next time I will visit Drunken Farmers.
