By the end of October, The Assembly Ground will be launching their contemporary new menu featuring new fusion dishes alongside their current favourites. From their popular Assembly Truffle Fries ($14) served with a truffle mayo dip to new mains such as Slipper Lobster Barramundi Laksa ($28), Rotisserie Truffle Chicken ($22) and Spicy Salmon Pasta ($20), you will be split for choice in this new expanded menu.

The Lobster Barramundi Laksa pays homage to our familiar coconut curry noodle dish with a twist in the addition of fried wonton strips and the Spicy Salmon Pasta is served with a pan-fried Norwegian salmon and spaghetti cooked in a spicy Japanese garlic sauce. What I like about the food creations from The Assembly Ground is their usage of different ingredients to balance the flavours such as having orange infused turnip in the salmon dish to give it a nice tanginess to complement the spicy and creamy pasta sauce.

Over to the burgers’ section and there is the Tonkatsu ($22), probably my favourite dish of the evening, with a panko-breaded Nagano pork, Japanese slaw, mayonnaise and wafu sauce sandwiched between a French sourdough bun with curly fries and salad by the side. Do not leave before first having desserts with the new addition being the Brownie Ice Cream Bomb ($10), a frozen brownie with a New Zealand vanilla bean ice cream inside.
