Red Ruby is my favourite local dessert! For the uninitiated, it is a simple dessert of shaved ice flavoured with syrup and coconut milk (or evaporated milk), and topped primarily with chewy, crunchy starch-coated water chestnut pieces. The dessert stall at Tiong Bahru Market is generous with its toppings and drizzling of syrup and milk, so naturally its ice desserts are much tastier than the average stall. We need more stalls like this!
