Stumbled upon this place when we were looking for somewhere to have lunch as “Song Kee Fishball Noodle” was already closed for CNY.
I‘d ordered the X.O. Duck and Char Siew Noodles ($10.50 + 7% GST) for myself - swipe to see it. While the thin noodles were cooked al dente and tossed in a tasty dark sauce, the duck drumstick didn’t quite live up to its promising sexy looks for me (hopefully it’s just a one-off), but fortunately, the “char siew” saved the day. It‘s on the sweetish side and remarkably delicious, with a caramelised finish on the outside and tender juiciness within. One bite was all it took to prompt me to place an order of it for takeaway. The portion shown above cost $30 and was the last of what they had. Business was brisk today, to say the least.
I will return soon to try their “sio bak” as it had run out by the time we arrived at the eatery. This is enough to convince me it has to be of a high standard.
