The highly drinkable Sichuan Spicy Hot Pot is quite possibly my favourite Mala soup base yet, being sweet and yet simultaneously possessing a Fifty Shades of Grey-esque gently tongue-whipping quality at the same time. Elsewhere, the Local Laksa Hot Pot played it all low-key Nissin Laksa-esque and the Chicken Soup Hot Pot was the herbal equivalent of a light, comforting caress of the soul. I wonder if any of the remaining soup bases beat the ones I tried?
