Always intrigued at how beautiful d9 cakery makes their sliced cakes. They’re beautiful, and taste even better. This royal hazel slice was decadent and rich with its luxurious Gianduja chocolate. The crispy feuilletine gave a great crunch at the bottom, balancing out the overall rich sweetness the cake offered. The gold finish on the top chocolate piece elevated the aesthetic of this cake - making the cake too beautiful to want to eat!
On a related note, the flavours of this cake reminded me of Rive Gauche Patisserie’s Guanaja cake. And in their own right, I think both are delicious.
