One of the perennial long queue stall in Hong Lim Food Center, I waited 20 mins for my serving of Mee Kia, dry with chilli. I normally order Mee Kia if it’s my first time to try a noodle stall because I believe it is more difficult to get the al dente correct with Mee Kia vs Mee Pok.

They got the noodles cooked correctly. The chilli sauce is of the right heat level. But the star has to be the fish ball and meat balls. $4 small portion gets you 5 fishballs and 2 meat balls. Judging from the irregular shapes, these are handmade for sure. The fishballs are quite Q, but soft enough so not at all chewy. Very fresh taste of fish. The meat balls were not so impressive.

Must come back to try their Mee Kia.
