After seeing and smelling how good Burppler Hilary's lunch of Assam Curry Fish was, I decided to order it for myself. Well, it surpassed my expectations on all fronts and at $4.50 including a bowl of rice, it was extremely good value-for-money.
The curry itself was spicy, thick and fragrant with an obvious, tasty tang - I literally finished every drop. Besides the five big pieces of cottony-soft, boneless fish, there were also slices of lady's finger and brinjal included.
The hawker's repertoire extends to other claypot dishes like Herbal Chicken, Pig Trotter in Vinegar and more. If his Assam Curry Fish is anything to go by, I reckon they would not disappoint either.
I am not 100% sure of the proper address of the old-ish food centre where this stall is located, but I am guessing it is Blk. 23 Kallang Avenue Eating House. The one-storey structure is tucked between a couple of tall industrial buildings. If you use Aperia as your landmark, the carpark gantry entrance directly across from it is where you go in by. Walk straight all the way though the open-air carpark and you will see the rather spacious food centre directly in front of you. The stall which has several gas stoves arranged along the front, is the second one on your right as you enter.
