Egg bae in Kensington market, is probably a spin off of LA’s famous Egg Slut and serves egg burgers as well. The place is more minimalistic than I thought it would be, but it’s a decent place for brunch.

I got their Eh Bae Bae burger (haha, punny), which consisted of scrambled eggs, sweet and spicy bacon, muenster cheese, tomato, arugula, pickled shallots, and their own bae sauce, which is a slightly spicy sriracha mayo.

Overall, the burger was sadly a bit average to me, despite looking great. I liked the candied bacon, which tasted reminiscent of bakwa (肉干), that’s totally a plus in my books, and the cheese was quite tasty when melted onto the eggs. The brioche buns, that are made in house, were also not bad, and definitely made the whole place smell great.

But the scrambled eggs, which I felt should have been the highlight, didn’t taste seasoned at all, and were also a bit cold because of the cold tomato placed against it. Perhaps it would be better if the bacon were placed under the eggs to prevent the tomatoes from making the eggs cold haha. So sadly as a whole, the burger was quite underwhelming for me.
