Purple sweet potato cake [$7.90]
Soft, fluffy vanilla sponge layered with purple sweet potato paste that was smooth, creamy and thick. Adorned with hokkaido cream and chocolate ganache, this dessert is one with natural colours and sweetness that provides satisfaction to both the sight and sense! π
Chocolate and Shoyu caramelised banana meringue tart [$7.90]
My favorite among all 3 I tried! An interesting combination of chocolate and shoyu (aka soy sauce) that surprisingly turned out to be a blessing in disguise! A smooth, thick and rich chocolate ganache encased within a firm, solid chocolate tart shell layered with caramelised banana that provided a tinge of sweetness, one could taste the subtle lingering saltiness of shoyu that helped to offset the otherwise saccharine dessert. The pile of atop was light and foamy, akin to a melted marshmallow, which to me was a rather unnecessary element here.
Hokkaido matcha pudding with kuromitsu sauce [$6.90]
A soft, smooth and wobbly matcha pudding that had a distinct earthy flavour and aroma coupled with a pleasant tinge of sweetness from the kuromitsu sauce. With a top surface layer of azuki beans, the pudding was also garnished with some golden cereal crumbs that provided a pleasant crisp factor to the other softer elements. Though the matcha flavour wasn't as intense as I would have love it, it was still distinct and fragrant! π
