It was 10pm and most places had closed their kitchens. Thankfully KURO Izakaya was our lifesaver and the servers ushered us in despite it being 15 minutes to closing time! Their Kuro Premium Wagyu Don really hit the spot; the beef was a perfect medium rare and had a nice smoky flavour. Together with ikura, caviar and a perfectly runny onsen egg atop warm rice, this was an unbeatable combination. Wife approved of the karaage, which came in a thin and crispy batter that was super addictive.
