Age seems to be catching up, making it necessary to skip meals in anticipation of conquering the Japanese High Tea Buffet at Shin Minori. The price seemed more justified compared to their standard lunch and dinner buffets, which made it all the more appealing.

We feasts heavily, and their buffet menu was impressively extensive. The food was decent, tasting as expected, but some lacked that desired freshness. Surprisingly, their fusion items like nori taco and various purple sushi rice outshined the standard Japanese fare.

While the sashimi had thick cuts, it lacked that expected freshness. Aburi sushi was decent but the rice tended to crumble easily. The chilled tamago tasted akin to castella cake. Noteworthy was their snowy cherry blossom chawanmushi—steamed egg custard with sweet egg white foam and roe. I can't go without mentioning the umami teapot soup. Both prawn tempura and miso-glazed grilled prawn were delightful. Desserts like mochi and watermelon were satisfying.

I forgot to try their nabe, engrossed in devouring other dishes. The buffet's inclusion of fountain drinks and green tea was appreciated. Overall, aimed for their fusion items more than normal Japanese items.

Reservation is recommended, though we were the only customers that day—better safe than sorry, right?
