If you hadn't realised, most zichar and caifan stalls in Singapore have been taken over by Malaysians. It makes sense - young Singaporeans don't wanna be hawkers while many young Chinese Malaysians are culinary-trained. This also means saying zichar and caifan are quintessentially Singapore food is usually inaccurate. There's only a handful of local stalls left and I especially love such caifan because they taste homey. Here are chicken cutlet, sweet & sour pork, scrambled egg and French beans. I mean, I don't ever order sweet & sour pork, but at such stalls I would.
