📍Kele Roll Cake (Chinatown Flagship Store)
- Black Charcoal Mao Shan Wang🍰
- Avocado Macadamia Nut🥑
- Lychee Martini🍸

Recommend the avocado macadamia nut swiss roll for the cake is moist and the filling is creamy and nutty. With the macadamia nut bits in the cream, adding that little crunch to the swiss roll is so gd~

The MSW filling is super duper good, like as if you are eating the real msw (can get to bite/see the flesh) but the cake itself is a little too dry (like need to drink water to flush the cake down the throat), unlike the avocado one which is soft and moist… Hence, so-so…

No-no to the lychee martini, disappointed for the cake is just like the msw’s, so dry that the cake and the filling already “cracked”, taste also quite subtle, nothing wow, suggest to skip this…

Damage: $38.70 incl. of GST (bundle deal)

My first time trying and although the size is relatively small, it’s quite rich in taste. I bought the Lychee Martini 1-1 at $12.90 and totally no regrets. Will be back to try other flavours too. Unfortunately, the durian is not on the 1-1 list.

Bought 8 rolls, mix of flavours. Overall, the sponge was too dry for our liking. Some of the rolls, for example, the kaya, was a bit too heavy on the colouring (?). The sponge was falling off the filling for our rolls. Not sure if they kept the rolls for way too long in the freezer and therefore the sponge has dried out.

Maybe, if you’re lucky, you might get a fresh batch!

Oh.. The sales lady told us that we can buy more as we can keep the Swiss rolls frozen for up to 1 year... hmm.

Love these 2 flavours! Lychee Martini is light and refreshing on the palate, and D24 has a good dose of durian! Quite worth it with the Burpple's 1 for 1!

I have been eyeing Kele Swiss rolls for the longest time. But always thought it was a little bit too pricey. The opportunity to try it came when it got listed on Burpplebeyond 1-for-1 a few weeks ago! It took me two tries to get my hands on them though. First try was at Vivo city before dinner time and they had already run out of the lychee martini Swiss rolls. Second try was at the chinatown Smith street outlet after lunch time and the stock was still available (and no one). Got my hands on the lychee martini and avocado Macadamia nut! Interesting how the swissrolls have to be frozen. Best served after thawing them for 10mins. Much more creamy than a normal Swiss roll. And I'm someone who doesn't really like eating cream. but when the swissrolls are at their semi thawed stage, they taste slightly like icecream! Visible bits of lychee and macadmia nut in both. I will say trying it once is enough 😅 The premium Swiss rolls are selling at $12.90 each roll. (There is actually an ongoing $10.90 store promotion now. But the Burpplebeyond 1 for 1 will still be $12.90 for two rolls).

Avocado and mango.

Mango not strong in taste. Could have been better
