Must Try

Pontianak style of bakso gepeng (meatballs made with beef and flour, flat style) and tahu baso with savory beef broth. Here, they add caisim (mustard green), bean sprout, and soybeans for garnish. Best eaten with their homemade chili sauce and splash of kumquat juice.
In Javanese, sego means rice. The famous sego pecel Bu Wiryo consists generous portion of pecel (boiled vegetables such as bean sprout, papaya leaves, string beans, topped with peanut sauce). Tend to be sweet but not overpowering with hot chili hint. Many gorengan applied to enjoy the company such as tahu goreng (fried tofu), tempe goreng tepung (fried tempe with coated flour), risol (spring roll), and many others.
Stall from Goodall Cafe named Ikan Bakar Tong Hai Aun served many grilled fresh seafood. My favorite was Pari Bakar (grilled stingray). First they use banana leaf as grilling base, then spread red paste which have curry hint. Served with shredded onion and sweet tangy sambal belacan. Best eaten with warm rice.
200 gr medium rare NZ tenderloin steak grilled in perfect timing, succulent and juicy inside. Tangy chimmicuri sauce was good companion to mashed herb potatoes and horenso salad with sweet Japanese dressing, all for 95k only. Wanted to try their rib eye and wasabi butter sauce next time.
My all time favorite dessert made with liquor. Basic pie crust filled with chocolate base, layered with smooth custard then topped with coffee icing and vanilla ice cream. A sinful one.
Sambal Keumamah was made from ikan kayu (dried tuna/skipjack tuna, similar to katsuoboshi), red hot chili, garlic, coconut oil, and asam sunti (sun dried bilimbi). Taste flavorful yet intense. Sambal Ganja (metaphor of Aceh addicted and famous cannabis) was made from minced boiled prawn, red onion, green chili, and fresh belimbing wuluh (bilimbi). Taste fresh yet hot, nice to dipped your fried chicken or just rice only. A must order.
Crisp coat chunks of savory deep fried chicken scattered among fragrant fried curry and pandan leaves. The presentation and its delicious taste resembled fine finesse Aceh famous dishes.
My must order menu. Thinly sliced of cut beef (mostly sirloin) marinated in balsamic vinegar, coated with crumbs then seared on skillet. Served with sauteed mushroom and sliced of garlic bread.
Soy braised US beef belly served with rice, kimchi, and veggies. Tender beef met melted sinful layered belly is hard to resist. As good as you can get.
Japanese salad version with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, nori, and crispy fried tofu dipped in sesame batter. Served with tangy sesame dressing. Refreshing!
Tasty dish which usually served in home cooking. This milky coconut soup consists several ingredients that might be different from one region to another. This one, Semarang style, filled with tempe, string beans, stinky beans, chili, garlic, and bamboo shoots. My new favorite menu here.
Stir fry squid cooked with its ink and spices, served with sambal terasi. A must have dishes everytime i come back to this place.
