Decor is a little more upscale than homey previously. They still served the oh-so-good-and-appetising crusty bruschetta with delicious olive oil laced salsa to everyone. This squid ink risotto is unbelievably tasty - packed with seafood flavour and generously served with soft juicy squid, crab meat and prawn chunks. It's 'drier' than most cream risottos but I LOVE it - my friend commented that she's never heard me make so many sounds with every single bite. It's not cheap but I think it's worth all of the $31 price tag. Would also recommend the antipasti such as the beef carpaccio and parma ham with mozzarella (fav among my friends). Come in a group so you get to taste more dishes! #Burpple

So many dishes came one spoon after another, and each one was just as epic as the previous served. Most memorable dishes were the sashimi (otoro oh lord), grilled chicken yakitori (substitute cuz I don't take beef), fried cricket (don't think abt it), and the main sashimi rice (THAT UNI OMG). For $80++ I would definitely hang out in front of my computer every three months for the booking.

Facing Punggol Reservoir, this two-week old eatery is ideal for anyone who loves looking out at greenery and feeling the breeze, while downing a beer or savouring a cake. Wide menu selection with unique homemade ice teas. I had an adequate portion of the crabmeat linguine, and this citrus earl grey pound cake was pretty good - strong taste of the earl grey with a slight crust on the outside, and just lightly sweet. Great place to chill out alone or with friends or family. They even have a children's play corner!

I'd heard about the durian creme brûlée and salted egg fries from this newly open eatery. Turns out that the highlight for me was not these two but this dish called The Asian Truffle which is capellini (kinda like the Italian version of mee sua) doused in BUAH KELUAK sauce with crispy fried chicken and garnished with vegetables. That sauce was rich, heavenly and addictive - worth all of $14.80. The small Duriancanboleh was good too but I'll need at least 2 or 3 for satisfaction. The salted egg sauce for the fries was a tad too sweet for my colleagues' liking, but worth trying!

Came by to get Brioche, but thought I'll chill here since I still had time to spare before meeting friends. This soup of the day was an excellent recommendation by the good server. It was so full of flavour! Ok I can't decide which is my favourite place, Anthesis or The Lokal.

I know it's really popular for its red velvet waffle, but I wanted to try their eggs benedict which was acclaimed as well. I LOVE that tomato chilli jam that they added around the brioche, such a unique flavour I can't describe, wished there were more! I added a pork sausage which was grilled nicely with a slightly candied exterior, and the mushrooms were tasty. Eggs were a little bit of a disappointment however because they didn't look like they were fresh and poached nicely, and the hollandaise was tasteless. I'll still give this a thumbs up though, that tomato jam was a winner. I liked their strawberry lemonade too. #burpple

The place and the presentation of food were unembellished, which I was taken aback due to some expectation of it being a bit of a upscale cafe. But the moment I bit into that crunchy crackling pork in my sandwich, I knew that the food doesn't need any of that fancy facade. It was as if I ate a whole delicious pork knuckle in a sandwich that could've been worth $30+ but was only $14. The red cabbage I think was there to make me feel less guilty abt eating all that fried pork skin goodness, and the bread had such a wonderfully toasted crust though it was hard to cut through. Only thing I didn't like was the weird taste in the lemon and thyme soda. Other than that, I'll definitely be back for more partying in my mouth.

Chose this Apple Cider Stacker. Definitely no alcohol in it (sad) but I like the combination of the slightly sweet apple sauce layered with the light salted cream frosting, which is surprising since I usually hate buttercream. I'd say it's worth the $8.50. Bought the lemon meringue tart home, can't wait to sink my fork in that. Will definitely be back to try the others! #burpple

The squid ink waffle with smoked salmon and poached egg was gooooooooood.... Caffe mocha (with soy) was meh.
