Think big wobbly blobs of ultra-soft eggy deliciousness blanketed in a very tasty hollandaise sauce. The "sou vide" technique of cooking the eggs here takes it up several notches.

Second time having this, and it's still so satisfying. This is different from the Teochew beef noodles I typically enjoy, gravy is much darker, beef is served in chunkier cubes (but really tender). And don't underestimate that unassuming little bowl of beef broth, unbelievably tasty!

Entrecôte steak frites. Decent cut steak with unlimited fries. Not overly expensive too.

Located just beside the SMU admin building in town, this little steakhouse is a go-to for inexpensive steaks. With set lunches (including 2 sides) going for only $10, it is no doubt that it has become a popular place for uni students and the working crowd. Signatures includes the Specialty Angus Ribeye and the Teriyaki Chicken Steak. They come in big portions, and there's no GST, service charge!

At La Petite, you get to enjoy French favourites at not-so-crazy prices. This humble, cosy bistro is located in the outer corridor of Serene Centre. Order (at the counter) the escargots on toasted croissant ($14) to share, and the Confit du Canard (duck leg) for your main at $16.50. The duck is cooked to perfection, crispy skin with tender flesh, and an addictive potato gratin on the side.
