You probably can't make out what's in that slush of eggy yellow curry, but that's crispy soft-shell crab – large ones, at that. I would be happy just lapping up that sauce with a plate of rice, nothing else needed.

Not many people knows that Thailand is really good at making their fish/crab/prawn cakes, and perhaps with the myriads of items on their menu, such "kiddish" or "cheap" items are overlooked. I think Nara's fish cake is really good and at $13.90 for 6 piece it's really really good! Love their sweet chilli, which we added lime for the extra tanginess!

At just 35 baht, there's really nothing much else to talk about! Always a great affordable option in terminal 21.

Almost missed out on this experience cos I didn't think the fried chicken could be worth traveling for. Well, if you love fried chicken, you should definitely try this. Along Sukhumvit Soi 38 runs one of the best stretches for one-stop street food fix. In the first tiny alley on the right is Blazing Pad Thai, each portion lovingly cooked over the biggest fire I've ever seen. Don't miss this!

In Yaowarat, Chinatown, Bangkok. This is the best braised pig trotters i had ever had.
