4 words - Claypot Mee Tai Mak. This dish may not be pretty, but it's darn tasty and only $5 for extreme comfort, complete with a raw egg for you to stir in. As its name suggests, this place is known for their Fish Head Steamboat, and other great dishes like Salted Egg Pork Ribs and Boss Bee Hoon. Best part is its convenient location next to Maxwell Market, and of course, air con!

Mellben needs no introduction to all crab lovers. The crab bee hoon has addictively rich, creamy sauce that keeps people coming back for more, despite the insanely long queues. Besides the excellent crab, go for the Salted Egg Pork Ribs, and Salad You Tiao. Don't forget to order some greens to balance this meal ;) Make reservations ahead of time to avoid queuing for 2 hours!

This humble eatery at the bottom of a HDB block in Ang Mo Kio is always packed on the weekends with families happily tucking in, and with good reason. You'll understand why, once you try their signature dishes - Deep Fried Prawn Ball With Pumpkin & Butter Sauce, Black Currant Sauce Pork Ribs, and Dong Po Pork Belly. With pleasant service and honest, good food, you'll be back.

Once upon a time, grand master Lam exclaimed when tasting this experimental dish:"This, is the way chicken should be cooked." First invented by the Hakka from China in the salt mills, the salt baked chicken from Lam's are perfected, using Korean imported giant claypots for baking their chicken in rock salt; just as unique as a sous-vide technique in western cooking. The result is a succulent and juicy chicken thigh, exploding the flavours from its own skin/oil and salt.
